Places named in the record

218 places are named in the 2,334 articles 605Buzz has published whose source stated where the record belongs.

This counts what 605Buzz has published and where the SOURCE said it happened — never what happened in a place. Each name below is the string a source stated, checked against no gazetteer: most are South Dakota municipalities, and a few are not — an out-of-state employer's location on a layoff filing, a region, or a whole state. A place with no entry is one none of our sources has named, not a quiet one. Four desks state no municipality at all: road work is filed by route and milepost, county commission meetings are filed to a county, and the sports calendars publish a venue rather than a city.

2,666 more published articles state no municipality and are therefore on no town’s page. They are not missing: they are on /roads , /meetings and /sports , filed the way their sources file them — by route and milepost, by county, and by venue.

This index read the 5,000 most recent published articles and stopped there, so every count below is a floor rather than a total.
